2. MINI COMPUTER:- Is smaller in size and capacity compared with the mainframe. This class of computer has the ability to serve a single unit of an organization or a small establishment. It can accommodate few terminals and personal computer. Knows as microcomputer. It is usually placed on desk with the ability to perform day to day task for someone or a group of people. It is referred to as stand alone in the help of a network,two or more computers can be linked together for the primiry purpose of sharing resources of information. LAPTOP COMPUTERS: These are battery- operated and are smaller in size. The screen is used to cover the system while the keyboard is installed flatly on the system unit. They could be carried about like a box when closed after use and can be operated in vehicles while on a journey.
NOTEBOOK COMPUTER: Notebook computers is similar to a laptop computer but it is smaller in size. As the name implies,it resembles a notebook and comprises all the componemts of a full system.
PALM TOP COMPUTER: is far smallar in size. All the componets are complete as any of the above but made smaller so that it can be held the palm.
